The Concealed Carry Creed
My weapon is for the protection of my life and the lives of others. That is its sole purpose. It does not confer rights, responsibilities or authority greater than that of other citizens. It merely allows me to protect life.
I will seek never to have to use my weapon. If I can avoid conflict, I will. If I can resolve conflict, I will. If I can escape danger, I will. If I am forced to bring my weapon to bear and use it, I will.
I will acquire superior training with my weapon. It is not the weapon that saves lives, but my effective use of the weapon. I will ensure my training is sound, my knowledge is current, and my mind is prepared.
I will know, understand, and obey all laws and ordinances concerning my weapon no matter where I happen to be. Failure to do so harms all who seek to legally carry an effective means of self protection.
I will know and follow the Four Rules of safe gun handling. I am a member of a growing community that must foster and teach safe and responsible gun handling if the community is to survive.

Concealed Carry
I guess one of the biggest things LEO (Law Enforcement Officers) fear is being physically assaulted for doing there job. Every day I run into someone who I have had to detain. Not because I don't like them or enjoy keeping someone confined, but because there is a judical order that says I have to. Of course nobody I know likes to be locked up so situations arrise that I piss of people everday. Well the outcome is the next time I'm in Walmart or getting my oil changed I run into somebody that has been locked up.
So I choose to carry a concealed weapon. Now depending on where you are employed depends on the laws that govern. Some agencies require you to have a Concealed Weapons License, and other agencies don't. Mine does so I have a CWP. I am not that big of a guy so I have to carry a smaller gun. I also served ten years in the military so have no issue carrying, while some people do. I carry an automatic with at least one spare magazine. I would love to hear feedback on others who carry and what they carry.

Hello,
Welcome to my blog. I'll start with a litlle background and why I am starting this page.
I have worked in a jail for the last seven years. Its very large and in the upstate of South Carolina. I am currently an Operations Sergeant and along with the other Sergeant on my shift we are in charge of our Second Shift.
I am starting this page to record stories, problems, and hopefully solutions for managing staff and inmates. Hopefully ideas will develop and can be implemented to help service our community and careers. This is open to everyone both the community and Law Enforcement professionals.
Also dicuss tactics, training, and equipment used in the job. I am a state certified instrustor in Firearm Retention, ASP Baton, Knife Defense, and PPCT. If you have any comments for further discussion please get involved.
